You’re awake.
Your eyes are open.
You’re hearing what’s said.
You’re watching what’s happening.
Are you ‘aware’?
Probably not.
Awareness means active listening, not just hearing words. It means observing the reactions of others, and measuring your own reactions as well. It means questioning your bias, and opening your mind to new possibilities.
True awareness means silencing your inner voice, and using your energy to focus on your surroundings.
Unless you are aware, you will never be mindful. And without mindfulness, your personal presence will be severely limited.
So watch, learn, and listen.
